Yes, it is here, finally.
A brand new blog.
I’ve been musing over re-blogging over the year… and with Melvin’s and Clydia’s encouragement, ta-dah!
Was thinking about writing about ONE topic… but boy, that’s hard! So… I re-looked @ what’s close to my heart… and listed them out:
- Concern and Change (Social)
The poverty I’ve seen over the years in India, East Timor etc is something that I can’t ignore. I just can’t sit in comfortable Singapore and forget the people I’ve met. The children I’ve hugged. The brokeness I’ve seen. The world can be a better place. Even if it’s just a drop in the ocean, I know that drop may mean a river to a child, a family or a village. What excites me is also how social innovation is making somebody’s world, a better place.
- Conservation (Eco)
As a kid, I’ve been recycling. My mom used to call me ‘garang-guni‘! I am always looking out for ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. Somehow I just have an innate sense not to waste. I’m not a save-the-earth saint, but I try.
- Create
I can’t sketch nor do traditional oil paintings. I can’t play Hadyn nor Mozart. BUT, I love doodling, taking artsy photos, painting abstractly, styling food, creating sounds and attempting to play jazz piano. Been wanting to create a website to post my works… but then… why not through a blog?
- Collaborate
It’s boring to do it alone. Plus many friends have influenced and impacted me and what I create… am planning to feature them. Watch out for emails to collaborate or be featured on my blog!
- Culture
Am fascinated by the currents, the ebbs and flows of daily life and what makes up pop / global culture. It’s such a web with so many layers and off-shoots. Love the complexities and the inter-twinings. Part of the reason why I work @ Waggener Edstrom where I eat, live, breathe Social Media.
- Community
What is life without relationships? What is life without keeping in touch with those close to us? The main part of why I love Social Media is the facilitation to connect! Love it when I keep track of nuggets of each other’s lives which adds so much fullness to face 2 face interactions.
—————————-
There is a famous saying where Singaporeans love their 6 ‘C’s – Cash, Car, Condo, Credit Card, Country Club. I love my ‘C’s too… just a different list.
Yeah… invite you to journey with me into 2009 and beyond… feel free to leave a comment or send me an email!
